| Media Interface retrofit kit for the Mercedes ML and GL (W164) and the R Class (R251). Special order part, will take approx 7-10 days to deliver. Please supply your chassis number and tell us whether your vehicle is Left Hand Drive or Right Hand Drive (steering wheel) in the notes section so we know exactly which model your car is. This kit allows you to retrofit the factory-fit Media Interface (also known as UCI) to your Mercedes ML or GL or R class with COMAND NTG2.5 (i.e the one with the built in hard disk and SD card slot on the front), The Audio-50 NTG2.5 or the Audio-20 with inbuilt CD Changer. The Audio-20 without CD changer does not have the necessary fibre optic connections. You will also need to purchase the appropriate Media Interface cable set or the cable to connect to the iPhone/3G cradle if you have an iPhone/3G comfort phone cradle. The Media interface provide full iPod (or iPhone music functionality) controllable from the Audio system screen and controls and the steering wheel controls/cluster display, a USB memory device interface, or a 3.5mm aux input, depending which cable you are using. It can also be linked to the iPhone / iPhone3G comfort telephone cradle. (You need to purchase the appropriate cable set depending which one of the above functions you which to use). It is not suitable for cars with Audio-20 system and no inbuilt CD Changer (i.e no navigation system) or the older DVD based COMAND systems. Your car's COMAND/Audio-50-APS software may need updating using Star Diagnosis (dealer computer). If the NTG2.5 system was factory fitted you will need the dealer to update the car's datacard and code the audio unit to tell it there is a Media Interface present. If the car was not factory fitted with COMAND NTG2.5 you will still need the COMAND/Audio-50 coded using Star diagnosis in developer mode to enable the Media Interface. Full instructions included.
