Note that if your vehicle has a different region map or very old firmware the firmware may need to be updated and the map changed by a good independent or Mercedes dealer. The DVD is packed with navigation data for 11 countries in Africa and the Middle East, with major and minor roads, towns, villages and plenty of points of interest. 2014 Details The DVD is packed with navigation data for 11 countries in Africa and the Middle East, with major and minor roads, towns, villages and plenty of points of interest: Bahrain, Botswana, Kuwait, Lesotho, Namibia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Swaziland and the United Arab Emirates. Almost 499,000 key points of interest (POI) are featured on the DVD, including Filling stations, Car parks, Museums, Restaurants and Hospitals. Updates from V2013 to V2014 Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates already have 100% coverage: The navigation data on the 2014 version covers over 1.1 million kilometres of road. Prime Coverage* has been significantly extended in the following countries: Botswana +11%, Saudi Arabia +56%, South Africa +6%. Intensive work means that the quality of the maps for Saudi Arabia has been significantly increased (287,227 km Prime Coverage*, compared with 113,884 km on the previous version). The 2014 version features 2358 towns and communities. Precise navigation to the required house number expanded: There is full house number coverage in Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, while coverage has been improved in the following countries: Botswana +15%, Saudi Arabia +17%, South Africa +3%. There are around 71,230 more POIs here than on the previous version. 5241 restaurants and 234 hotels have been added to the new 2014 version. Using the data from the Traffic Message Channel (TMC/RDS), the navigation system takes into account the latest traffic bulletins for motorways and automatically calculates diversions. This convenient service is now available in the following 9 countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Lesotho, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Swaziland, the United Arab Emirates. 2013 Version details The navigation data on the 2013 version covers over 1 million kilometres of road. Five countries already enjoy 100% coverage. The update includes 2358 towns and communities. Almost 430,000 key points of interest are featured on the DVD, including Filling stations, Car parks, Museums, Restaurants and Hospitals. There are 77,422 more POIs here than on the previous version. 7857 restaurants and 135 hotels have been added to the new 2013 version.
