| This is the genuine Mercedes iPod kit for W221/W216 (S and CL class) pre the Mid 2009 facelift. Mercedes have discontinued this and thus these kits are extremely rare and we scoured the planet to find these kits. These are the last few we have. They do not come with a printed user manual, only a PDF download. We have included the new iPod charging cable that charges the 5V iPods & iPhones properly - the original kits came with the older charging cable. This iPod kit takes about 2 hours to install, and allows you to use your iPod with the steering wheels on your car. Track, playlist and other information is displayed on the instrument cluster display. The iPod tucks nicely away in the glovebox can can be held in place with the optional iPod cradle (dependant on iPod type). You will need to have the AUX input on COMAND enabled (if not already enabled) and if your car has no phone system the steering wheel controls enabled by a MB dealer or specialist, which is a 15 minute job. You should consider purchasing the cradle as-well, it just helps protect your iPod/iPhone in the car. |
