| The genuine Mercedes iPhone 4/4S telephone cradle is for connecting an iPhone 4 to a car with phone wiring. Only just released and in stock ! This version of the iPhone 4 cradle has the extra 15cm audio connection lead to connect to an iPod kit or Media interface kit (via an additional cable) and thus can not fit in the little drawer on an A/B class. It charges the iPhone 4, thus meaning the iPhone's battery won't go flat on you and is cheaper than a Mercedes HFP cradle. All our iphone 4 cradles have had the necessary S/W update to function correctly with the new iphone 4S Unsuprisingly, the iPhone 4 is not included with this product ! Please note the following: The 15cm cable is NOT long enough for use in the brand new CLS (C218) and the MY2012 W204 C class, a cradle with a 30cm cable will be available soon. This cradle can not be used in the A/B class with the pop out phone drawer because the cable does not fit in the drawer - use the version without the cable. The phone need not be in the cradle for it to work (although for charging and external aerial facilities it must be). Please note that although the cradle uses bluetooth, it will only pair with the Apple iPhone 4 & 4S Please also note that we have had 2 reports (out of hundreds of users) of people having problems after upgrading their iPhones to iPhone IOS4.3 where the address book doesn't function properly. This is an issue caused by changes in IOS4.3 bluetooth, but can possibly be worsened by old versions of firmware in older cradles or in the vehicle's phone system, and by non english characters in address book entries. Firmware in the car can be updated by your Mercedes dealer, firmware in older cradles can be updated by Mercedes or by us, and you should check the address book entries (name, number, email address) for non english characters. We have alerted Apple to this and urge any affected users to do the same. (iPhone not included with this product !!) |
